  • Help facilitate the ongoing dialogue between and among water users, elected officials, and interested citizens
  • Discuss the components of proper water conservation planning
  • Provide valuable information to the community on the economics and current practices regarding water conservation planning and implementation
  • Provide an opportunity for local water users and providers to share their experiences and recent lessons learned
  • Promote more visibility and understanding of local conservation efforts across the state

StormCon, The North American Surface Water Quality Conference and Exposition

StormCon is the nation's largest stormwater pollution prevention conference with over 160 presenters from 30 states and several countries addressing proven techniques for solving community and construction-site stormwater pollution problems. Learn from one of four featured program tracks: Best Management Practices (BMPs), Research and Testing of Best Management Practices, Managing the Stormwater Program, and Comprehensive Water Quality Management. New and expanded program areas include regional BMPs, low-impact development techniques, construction-site runoff, U.S. EPA workshops and panel discussions.

River Watch Trainings
Aug. 15-17, 2006
Colorado Division of Wildlife headquarters
Denver, Colo.

Training will cover water quality sampling and analysis, the nuts and bolts of River Watch, macroinvertebrate sampling and physical habitat analysis.
$35 per person, no meals or lodging are included
Registration deadline - July 20, 2006.

Camp Cedaredge, located southeast of Grand Junction, Colo.

This overnight event will allow participants the ability to broaden their knowledge on River Watch. Introduction to River Watch for new participants will focus on water quality sampling and analysis, and the nuts and bolts of the program.

$60 per person to attend, all meals and lodging are included.

Sustaining Colorado Watersheds: Science and Restoration through Collaboration

The Colorado Watershed Assembly will combine its annual conference with the Colorado Riparian Association and the Society for Ecological Restoration. This will provide assembly members with a broader range of potential resources and networking opportunities. Fundraising and capacity-building training workshops will be offered as a part of the National Watershed Health Program.
